Subject 5 is a female homo sapien (human being) with approx. 23% mus musculus (house mouse) DNA. Subject is a four foot five inches tall humanoid with mouse-like features (whiskers, excessive body hair, enhanced olfactory, auditory and visual abilities, and large ears.) It is the final subject to be created in our Renfield Laboratory and the final, most crucial component of the Plan. This entry serves as a summary of its medical history and general procedure for newly hired researchers and scientists studying it.

Precursory Stage

Four months after the creation of Subject 4, a human embryo was solicited from donor ██████ ████████. Implantation into the embryonic tube had no notable issues while implantation was occurring, and has had no negative consequences on the subject. The process of genetic modification had a notable negative consequence of activating a hidden trait and predisposing the subject to abnormally severe hypertension. Subject 5 suffered a stroke at the age of seven due to this and has not recovered. The mus musculus DNA was otherwise spliced in with no issue.

Subject 5’s hypertension could not be reversed through any methods. Accommodations were put in place to prepare for this setback.

The remaining eight months of development had no notable events worth mentioning in this summary.

Early Existence

When the fetus was fully developed, Subject 5 was removed from its tube and placed in an incubator as a precaution due to protocol for errors during genetic modification. The incubation period, lasting two weeks, had minimal issues besides infant hypertension.

The first four years of Subject 5’s existence included as few procedures and surgeries as possible because of an increased possibility of complications and so, a very small margin for error that the Prophet was simply not willing to risk. Exposure to its fellow subjects was minimal during this time1.

Later Existence and Current State

As mentioned previously, Subject 5 suffered a minor stroke at age seven. Because of this, its ability to communicate was impaired and it now has episodes of minor paralysis on the right side of its face and body.

Subject 5 had displayed a natural inclination for navigation, locating, and puzzles from a young age. At the age of eight, a WISC-V test was ordered. It excelled in the VSI index and WMI index, as well as general problem-solving. Subject 5 also excelled in Barnes maze tests regardless of the conditions of the maze and always located the target(s) in under half an hour.

A surgery meant to modify her vocal cords was proposed by the Board and accepted by the Prophet. The premise of the surgery was to fulfill an element of the scripture, wherein the Mouse calls to humanity with a trumpet-like voice. The surgery failed and did not fulfill its purpose2, but Subject 5 recovered.

As of the writing of this summary, the laboratory predicts that she will be the ideal locator for the scripture’s holdings.

  2. A benign tumor was discovered in Subject 5's throat which the removal of took priority. Damage and scar tissue caused by the removal still prevents any attempt to redo the procedure in the near future.
